The constraint
The previous fit-out failed in six years: hinges seized, mild-steel frames bled rust through the paint, and the veneer joinery delaminated in the master bathroom.
What we did
Grade 316 stainless steel for every fixing and hinge, powder-coated marine aluminium for frames, and solid chengal instead of veneer anywhere within splash reach. Air conditioning condensate is routed away from the façade so it stops carrying salt back onto the render.
The result
Three monsoon seasons in with no corrosion failures. The maintenance schedule is one freshwater wash-down per quarter.
